JUSTICE SALAMI KNOWS FATE TODAY

The case of the suspended President of the Court of Appeal (PCA), Justice Ayo Isa Salami may be resolved today as Federal High Court sitting in Abuja will deliver judgment in a suit seeking to reinstate him as the PCA.
The suit was filed by the Registered Trustees of Centre for the Promotion of Arbitration seeking to compel NJC to reinstate Justice Salami.
Justice Salami has been on suspension since August 18, 2011 when the NJC found him guilty of “gross misconduct” following his refusal to apologise to former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu.
He was later recalled by the NJC who said that he was not blame worthy.
The National Judicial Council (NJC) had insisted that it is within its vested constitutional powers to recall and reinstate Justice Salami as the President of the Court of Appeal and does not require the president’s authority to do so.

  1. I think Justice Salami and the CJN should have opted for an out of court settlement but I think this is late right now.
